Iran offers to mediate to defuse Pak-Afghanistan tensions

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi called on Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran today.

They discussed Pakistan-Iran relations and bilateral cooperation.

The Interior Minister briefed on matters related to the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

The Iranian President offered to play a fraternal role in easing tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Mohsin Naqvi conveyed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s message of goodwill to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

He said Iran and Pakistan are partners in regional peace and stability.

The Iranian President said his country attaches special importance to its relations with Pakistan and it cannot forget the immense support from Islamabad.

Expressing satisfaction over bilateral relations, President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed the need for enhanced cooperation between the two countries to take advantage of the vast opportunities.
