A convoy of security forces was attacked in the Mir Ali subdivision of the North Waziristan district, inflicting injuries on 14 people, including civilians, and one security forces member who chose martyrdom, according to the ISPR on Sunday.
The attack has been blamed on the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Local authorities reported that a rickshaw struck a vehicle carrying members of the security forces and Marri Petroleum Company as it was traveling from North Waziristan to Bannu. The incident occurred in the Khajori area of the subdivision. A local official reported that the rickshaw “was parked on the roadside in the middle of parked cars when it suddenly appeared and struck a vehicle of the security forces.” Initially, the military’s media wing didn’t make any official statements. On the other hand, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Sunday that the attack claimed the lives of one soldier and injured another 14. The neighborhood was immediately cordoned off, according to the local official.
