ASM is excited to support you as you build relationships with your fellows.” This international recognition explicitly recognizes the leadership and scholarly contributions of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, currently serving as Vice Chancellor of the National Skills University Islamabad and Vice Chairman of the National Technology Council Pakistan.
Prof. Mukhtar is a forward-thinking academic administrator, teacher, and scholar possessing drive, ambition, and ability with a doctoral and postdoctoral inbiotechnology from the North American system. His services at several institutions in the country received rave reviews. In academic leadership,being the founding vice chancellor of three universities, the most challenging task, including current position, are exemplary. Moreover, during his servicesas Foreign Professor at the Pir Mehr Ali Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi, he established a linkage with the King Saud University, Riyadh, that led to funding from the National Plan for Science, Technology, and Innovation to develop molecular tests to identify the infestation of the date palm with red palm weevil. Of importance, during his tenure as Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University Bahawalpur, the establishment of world-class agriculture and veterinary colleges, followed by their accreditation and support for the development of virus-resistant cotton varieties being cultivated in Punjab, are worth mentioning contributions in the country.
