ISLAMABAD – Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang will arrive in Pakistan tomorrow (Friday) on his maiden visit since assuming the office with ongoing Afghanistan crisis and bilateral relations on the agenda.
Qin will meet with Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the foreign minister, during his two-day trip.
The fourth edition of the Pakistan-China Strategic Dialogue will be co-chaired by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and his Chinese counterpart.
An organised system called the Strategic Dialogue evaluates bilateral collaboration in significant areas. The All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership will be reaffirmed by the two parties, and they will also examine the changing regional and global scene and create a roadmap for multifaceted cooperation.
The interim foreign minister of the Taliban, Amir Khan Mutaqi, who has been given permission by the UN to visit Pakistan, will also take part in the trilateral discussions with the Chinese official.
Qin’s visit is intended to “further deepen strategic communication and practical cooperation, promote the building of an ever closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era, and contribute positive energy to the region and the wider world,” according to a Chinese statement.
After attending the conference of the foreign ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in Goa, India, the Chinese foreign minister will go to Pakistan.
