Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Bloody Daddy’ is action-packed and intriguing

Shahid Kapoor has shared the first teaser of his upcoming film, Bloody Daddy, an official adaptation of the 2011 French film Nuit Blanche. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film features Shahid as a dapper but blood-thirsty man who easily takes down goons while wielding a knife.

Sanjay Kapoor also appears in the trailer, shocked by the high-intensity fighting to question what is going on. Ronit Roy, Rajeev Khandelwal, and Diana Penty make appearances too. According to Times of India, Bloody Daddy is described as a “stylized relentless action-packed ride,” that promises mafia, drugs, cops, family, and lots of blood.

At a recent event, Shahid, who plays the titular character, told reporters that he enjoyed doing action onscreen and had a great time working with Ali. He added that his dancing experience helped him understand the action choreography better.

“It was a lot of fun. I had a great time doing an action film, I really enjoyed working with Ali. He understands the genre very well. The dilemma now is that if you’re doing something of this scale, on OTT, what do you do on the big screen? So we have to figure that out, it has been a blast,” the 42-year-old actor held.

“There’s a lot of choreography involved with dance, I started dancing at the age of 15. I can memorise things fast,” he added. “When we did the film, unfortunately, due to Covid, we had a lot of issues. The action directors were not from here, some of them were from London, and Hollywood, and they are used to a lot of rehearsals. There were visa issues, they came in and thought this would be a disaster. But because I have done a lot of dancing, I could pick it up (the action) really fast,” he continued.

Shahid noted that while doing action, “you lose about a kg a day,” so it’s really tough. “But you have to look really buff, I don’t know how Tiger (Shroff) does it.”

Shahid’s recent series on Amazon Prime, Farzi, featured him as a con artist. His upcoming film, Bloody Daddy, is slated for an OTT release, but the actor has expressed concerns about how to translate it to the big screen.
