Evdeki Saat, a rising name in alternative pop from Turkey, gained widespread recognition with her 2020 hit “Uzunlar V1,” which has garnered over 120 million Spotify streams to date. Shae Gill, a 24-year-old sensation known for her global smash “Pasoori,” rose to fame by sharing cover songs on Instagram from her friend’s bedroom. Notably, “Pasoori” holds the record as the most-streamed Pakistani song of all time on Spotify, amassing nearly 600 million views on YouTube.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Gill expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “The inspiration for the track was based around the themes of romance, new love, and the open expression of love. It was a pleasure collaborating with him because he’s such a gifted and kind person. Musically, we connected on so many levels, which made this collaboration all the more exciting.”
Saat shared her excitement about being involved in Coke Studio, saying, “I think it’s always exciting to be part of Coke Studio as a musician. The project itself is so thrilling, and I wanted to experience a global collaboration in my music career. I love connecting with other musical cultures, and Shae is not only a great representative of her culture but also a talented musician and personality. The process of creating this song was a challenging yet enjoyable experience.”
