KARACHI – The Pakistani rupee edged higher against the US dollar in the early hours of interbank market trading on Friday.
The rupee traded 0.53 reais higher against the US dollar at 260.4 in intraday trading.
The rupee traded at 260.93 on Thursday after he rose 0.37% against the dollar for the second time in a row.
Data released on Thursday showed foreign exchange reserves held by the National Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased by $66 million to $3.26 billion.
The country’s total liquid foreign exchange reserves reached $8.73 billion. Net foreign exchange reserves held by commercial banks were $5.47 billion.
