The Indian media company “India Today” progressed and presented its viewers an AI female anchor named “Sana” after Chinese artificial intelligence-powered news anchors.
The change in mainstream media came about as a result of AI-driven bots that were more effective and required less labour to generate equivalent outcomes.
During India Today Convention 2023, Vice Chairperson of India Today Group Kalli Purie launched the bot AI. Sana is a robot that Purie describes as “bright, gorgeous, ageless, tireless,” with the ability to “talk in numerous languages,” and that is “completely” under his control.
Next week, Sana from Aaj Tak AI will launch, giving daily news updates in many languages numerous times a day. In a new programme, Sana will also go into detail about a particular subject every day and answer viewers’ queries in the process.
Sana won’t “take away the genius of real-life anchors,” according to Purie, as they “will be mentoring her,” despite the fact that this may seem like a setback for many human anchors who have worked in the media for years.
Purie predicted that Sana would soon have a human surrogate editor and a business.
The Vice Chairperson views the future as “fascinating and terrifying,” which informs his optimistic and constructive approach to the coexistence of AI and humans.
.
Discussing how the media is routinely criticised Purie was concerned about the pressure from political parties, commercial organisations, foreign countries, and egotistical professionals, but he insisted that India Today has never compromised on the message it delivers since “it is not new.”
Purie said, “Our credibility is crucial to us.
The 20th India Today Conference, taking place at the Taj Palace in New Delhi, began on Friday.
