German Students Built Electric Vehicle Broke the World Record of 0-100Km/h in 1.41 seconds

A team of students from the University of Stuttgart (Germany) broke the record for fastest acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h by an electric car on September 23, 2022, achieving speed in just 1.461 seconds.

Called the GreenTeam Uni Stuttgart e.V. Support Association, the team is made up of members from various research areas at the University of Stuttgart.

Students designed and assembled electric vehicles in their own workshops on the Vaihingen campus.

Affectionately known as he E0711-11Evo, this electric car weighs around 145 kilograms and has a maximum power output of 180 kilowatts. This is made possible by integrating a university-developed motor and a newly created high-voltage battery pack into all-wheel drive. But the road to record-breaking success wasn’t always easy. The crew suffered a major setback in his July when the electric car sped off and hit a pile of tires. Luckily, the car was wrecked, but the driver was not injured.
