Ganqmod Port, the largest highway port on the China-Mongolia border, has achieved a remarkable milestone as the daily volume of goods handled by the port exceeded 170,000 tonnes so far this year, according to the port administration. This figure represents a record-high volume of daily goods handled by the port, highlighting its growing significance as a key trade gateway.

In 2022, the port completed customs clearance for over 19 million tonnes of goods, more than double the figure recorded in 2021. As of Thursday, the port has already handled more than 15 million tonnes of goods this year alone, showcasing an impressive year-on-year growth of over 200 percent. The port administration attributes this substantial growth to the implementation of intelligent and streamlined customs clearance processes.

Located in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in northern China, Ganqmod Port serves as a crucial energy import channel for the country and a vital hub on the China-Mongolia-Russia economic corridor. It also holds the distinction of being the region’s first highway port to reach the 10-million-tonne mark in 2023, accomplishing this target nearly four months earlier than in the previous year.

The remarkable performance of Ganqmod Port underscores its pivotal role in facilitating trade and economic cooperation between China and Mongolia. The port’s efficient operations and customs clearance procedures contribute to the smooth flow of goods, supporting regional connectivity and driving economic growth in the border area.

The record-breaking daily volume of goods handled by Ganqmod Port highlights China’s commitment to bolstering trade relations with Mongolia and enhancing cross-border connectivity. As trade continues to thrive between the two countries, Ganqmod Port plays a crucial role in facilitating the exchange of goods and strengthening economic ties. The port’s achievements reflect the dedication of all stakeholders involved in ensuring the smooth
