Canada reduces the required amount of work experience for permanent residency to 12 months

According to a press release the government issued on Saturday, some positions under the current caregiver pathways have been set aside for caregivers who have prior work authorization and experience working in Canada. This will allow them to apply for permanent residency. In terms of implementation, the modification will take effect on April 30 of this year and, interestingly, it will apply to caregivers who have already applied. The benefit of the change is that it will speed up application processing and provide caregivers and their families with a quick route to permanent residence and successful settlement in Canada. The government estimates that 90% of applications fall into this category, so the change would greatly benefit those who apply. The authorities
