In 1985, Xi Jinping, then Party Secretary of Zhengding County, made his first visit to Iowa, USA, accompanied throughout by Iowa friend Luca Berrone. People’s Daily，China interviewed Berrone on multiple occasions, during which he fondly recalled the friendship he has maintained with President Xi Jinping for over 40 years.
